BERLIN - MITTE 05.06.1966 Blick von der Gertraudenbrücke über die Spree in Richtung Baustelle des Ministerium für Auswärtige Angelegenheiten in Berlin - Mitte. Sie ist Schutzpatronin gegen Mäuse- und Rattenplagen, der Reisenden und Pilger, der Gärtner und der Armen und Witwen.// View from the bridge over the Spree Gertraud toward construction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin - Mitte. In between is the historical virgin bridge. It is the oldest bridge in Berlin. In the foreground stands the statue of Abbess Gertrude of Nivelles monastery. She is the patron saint against mouse and rat plagues of travelers and pilgrims, the gardener and the poor and widows.
