BERLIN 05.10.1989 To mark the 4 To mark the 40th anniversary of the GDR and in the spirit of "socialist brotherhood in arms," a wreath-laying ceremony took place at the monument to the Polish soldier and German anti-fascist in Volkspark Friedrichshain in East Berlin as part of the official celebrations. High-ranking representatives of the GDR party and state leadership, including Erich Honecker and Willi Stoph, as well as an official Polish delegation, participated. // Anlässlich des 40. Jahrestag der DDR und im Zeichen der "sozialistischen Waffenbrüderschaft" fand im Rahmen der offiziellen Feierlichkeiten eine Kranzniederlegung am Denkmal des polnischen Soldaten und deutschen Antifaschisten im Volkspark Friedrichshain in Ostberlin. Teilnehmer waren hochrangige Vertreter der Partei- und Staatsführung der DDR, u.a. Erich Honecker und Willi Stoph, sowie eine offizielle polnische Delegation.
